Pay it Forward – Neonatal knitters
Neonatal Knitters are a Community Group based in Ashton under Lyne who knit and crochet vital and sometimes life saving equipment for maternity and neonatal units at St Marys Manchester, Tameside Hospital, the Royal Oldham and North Manchester General. We range in age from 20s to 80s and thoroughly enjoy what we do. Blankets, cardigans, hats, knitted boobs (to show mums how to express their milk), bonding squares (small squares which pass the scent of mum to baby and vice versa for familiarity and to encourage a flow of milk) and small toys are all lovingly made by our group of volunteers. We rely on donations of yarn and local funding to enable us to carry on the work we do and would be grateful for any ‘Pay it Forward’ gifts received.
